Care Guide

Care guide

A little care goes a long way. Here's how to keep your Green & Grey planters and plants looking their best for years.

Caring for your planters

Our planters are made from GRC (glass-reinforced concrete) and GRP (glass-reinforced plastic), built to last indoors and out.

Cleaning

  • Wipe with a soft cloth or sponge, mild soap and water
  • No steel wool or rough brushes
  • Rinse with clean water to avoid residue
  • Wash outdoor planters now and then to keep the colour fresh

Sun & weather

  • Made for indoor and outdoor use
  • UV-resistant coatings help reduce fading
  • Slight colour change with long sun exposure is normal
  • In extreme heat, partial shade protects the finish

Drainage

  • Keep drainage holes open and working
  • Don't let water collect inside the planter
  • Avoid standing water, especially with GRC
  • Add a gravel layer to protect plant and pot

Moving & placing

  • Lift from the base, never the rim
  • Don't drag: it scratches and stresses the pot
  • Place on a flat, stable surface
  • Large GRC pots are heavy, so check the floor can take the weight

Temperature

  • Avoid sudden, extreme temperature changes
  • Use planters for planting only
  • Keep away from harsh chemicals, acidic cleaners and solvents

Small marks

Light scratches and surface marks can be repaired. Get in touch for touch-up kits or a maintenance visit.

GRPglass-reinforced plastic

Lightweight, durable and very resistant to temperature changes.

GRCglass-reinforced concrete

Strong and heavy. Avoid knocks and hard impacts.

Good to know

  • Fine hairline cracks can appear naturally in GRC and don't affect strength
  • Every piece is handmade, so small variations are part of its character
  • Overloading or rough handling can cause damage

Not covered for replacement

  • Damage from misuse or improper handling
  • Impacts, dragging or knocks
  • Poor drainage or water build-up
Our tip

Good drainage plus the right spot means a longer life and a better look.

Caring for your plants

Our plants are carefully chosen and prepared for your space. As living things, they need the right care to stay healthy.

Light

  • Most indoor plants like bright, indirect light
  • Avoid harsh direct sun unless the plant needs it
  • Turn the pot every 1–2 weeks for even growth

Watering

  • Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil is dry
  • Overwatering is the most common problem
  • Make sure the pot drains well
  • Water less in winter

Environment

  • Ideal temperature is 18–30°C
  • Keep away from AC units, heaters and strong drafts
  • Moderate humidity is best

Feeding

  • Balanced fertiliser every 3–4 weeks in spring and summer
  • Feed less, or stop, in winter

Tidying

  • Remove yellow or dry leaves
  • Wipe leaves gently to keep them dust-free and glossy
  • Prune when needed to keep the shape

Settling in

  • Plants need time to adjust to a new space
  • A few dropped leaves after delivery is normal
  • Natural differences in size, shape and colour are expected

Please note

  • Once repotted or installed, a plant is considered accepted in good condition and its care is yours
  • Damage from watering, sunlight or the environment isn't covered
  • Report any issue within 24 hours of delivery. See our returns policy
